Healthy Summer Refreshments

If you’ve been waiting for the summer patiently, you know there’s nothing better than kicking back, and sipping on a lemonade on the beach. At the same time, you may be trying to keep in “bikini” shape. I wanted to share 10 of my favorite healthy summer refreshments that are low-sugar, and low-calorie. You can add a little bit of stevia, or even opt out of the sweetener entirely if you choose to.

#1 Blueberry Lemonade: Water, blueberries, splash of lemon juice, and mint leaves

#2 Strawberry Basil Lemonade: Water, strawberries, splash of lime juice, and basil leaves

#3 Pear-fect Ginger: Water, cored and sliced pear, several slices of fresh ginger

#4 Cherries Jubilee: Water,  several pitted and halved cherries, slash of lemon juice, 1 vanilla bean

#5 Rosemary-Watermelon: Water, rosemary sprig, watermelon chunks

#6 Mango Mojito: Water, chopped mango, mint leaves

#7 Citrus Sensation: Water, chopped grapefruit, oranges, and lemons

#8 Cucumber Quencher: Water, thinly sliced cucumbers, mint leaves

#9 Pineapple Potion: Water, pineapple chunks, several slices of fresh ginger

#10 Prickly Pear Lemonade: Water, chopped prickly pear (also known as cactus pears), splash of lemon juice

Muddle all ingredients in a cup, and transfer to a water jar or pitcher. Enjoy!
